Case Study #1 - Complete
Condition: Severe Ligament Laxity and Hyper-mobility. Bilateral Pain in feet, ankles, knees, hips and lower back.
Duration of Pain: Known symptoms of general aches and pains for the past 8 years.
Overview: Because of the extreme hyper-molbily and ligament laxity, the patient’s tissue in the feet, ankles, knees, hips and back are moving beyond their acceptable ranges of motion during gait cycle. The excessive pronation is causing the muscles of the leg to work extra hard, causing them fatigue, which makes walking painful.
Treatment: The patient has a high medial longitudinal arch, which allows for more excursion during gait cycle. Her natural height needed to be captured in the non-pathological position, allowing for proper casting.
